Sabo administrators of various countries attended INTERPRAEVENT 2008-Summit held on May 30. Representatives from 10 countries and regions including Japan conducted presentations. Under the theme of land use regulations, lively discussions took place on such topics as legal frameworks, project implementation systems, surveys and researches, and the state of sediment-related disasters in recent years. Koji Kamee, Director-General of Sabo Department of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Japan, made a keynote speech (Picture-1). The views and opinions presented at the meeting by sabo administrators of each country were compiled into summary documents.
